B&G Foods, a major player in the consumer food industry, needed a large-scale migration of 50+ individual brand websites—ranging from household names like Ortega and Green Giant to more niche specialty foods—onto a unified, modern WordPress platform. The goal: streamline content management, improve performance, maintain SEO integrity, and deliver a cohesive user experience across all brand sites.
A voting system was needed for a food tasting event during the South Beach Wine & Food Festival. The solve was to setup a local network at the event and use a laptop to display a website on a large TV screen. There were iPads available for tasters to select which of the two food options they liked best—Surf or Turf. As each taster submitted their vote on one of the iPads, the scoreboard screen was animated, and the illustration moved to indicate their vote. At the end of the event, the food option with the highest percentage score won.
Guests visiting the 2019 Creamy Creations ice cream tasting tour used this web app to go through a short quiz to reveal which ice cream flavor they should taste based on their choices. The quizzes were displayed on iPads near the tasting stations at each event. By taking the quiz, the attendee subscribed to the mailing list and immediately received an email with a link to a custom Spotify playlist.
The client-side of the web app was built with the Ionic Framework and then mySQL and PHP for the backend reporting.
